LAYER 03 · THE KERNEL · DATABASE HYGIENE

Database Management.

Your database, turned into a kernel.

FIG. 01 · OVERVIEW

Bad data in HubSpot isn't a hygiene problem. It's an architectural problem. Most teams have spent years putting things in the system without ever defining what the system is. We define it.

FIG. 02 · WHERE IT LIVES

Database Management is a Layer 03 service.

Every service we offer maps to one of four layers. Database Management sits in the Kernel — the layer that owns revops & hubspot admin.

LAYER 01
The Surface
Websites & customer portals
Public interface — read by humans, agents, AEO crawlers.
LAYER 02
The Voice
Brand & omni-channel
Story rendered consistently in every format an LLM might cite.
LAYER 03
DATABASE MANAGEMENT LIVES HERE
The Kernel
RevOps & HubSpot admin
Source of truth every agent calls first. Clean, opinionated, agent-ready.
LAYER 04
The Agents
AI consulting & co-pilots
Autonomous teammates running on the kernel.

Database management as kernel work.

"Database management" sounds tactical. It's not. The data model in your CRM is the schema your entire revenue org operates against. Bad properties = bad reports = bad decisions. Compound that for two years and you have what most teams have: a HubSpot nobody trusts.

We treat it as kernel work. The data model gets defined deliberately. Property hygiene is enforced. Lifecycle stages stop overlapping. Lists deduplicate. The kernel becomes legible to your team and to any agent that calls it.

The process.

PHASE01

Discover · data model audit

Property-by-property review. Lifecycle stage audit. Workflow tangle untangled. Map of the architectural debt.

PHASE02

Expose · target schema + cleanup plan

What the schema should be. What stays, what consolidates, what retires. Reviewed before any data moves.

PHASE03

Wire · rebuild + migrate

Properties renamed and consolidated. Lists deduplicated. Workflows simplified. Lifecycle stages clean.

PHASE04

Operate · ongoing hygiene + governance

Property governance: who can add, who decides. Quarterly hygiene check. Drift caught early.

A kernel nobody works around.

OUT 01
A defined data model
Properties documented. Lifecycle clean. Lists deduplicated. Schema legible.
OUT 02
Clean migration
Old data preserved where useful. Bad data archived. Reporting starts from a real baseline.
OUT 03
Property governance
Documented rules for what goes in — a new property needs an owner and a reason.
OUT 04
Agent-ready data
Breeze (and any external agent) can query the kernel without inventing. The data is operable.

Things people ask before booking.

Will we lose data in the cleanup?

No data is deleted without your sign-off. We archive rather than delete. The cleanup is reversible at every step.

How long does cleanup take?

4–8 weeks for the structural work. Then ongoing governance to keep it clean. The structural work gets you to L3.

Do you do this for objects beyond contacts?

Yes. Companies, deals, tickets, custom objects. The whole kernel matters, not just the contacts.

Do we need to be on HubSpot for this to work?

Strongly preferred. The whole point is that lifecycle data, automation, and reporting all live in one source. We have adapted the model to Salesforce + Pardot and to HubSpot + custom data layers, but timelines double and the kernel is harder to keep clean over time.

What does success look like at 90 days?

Most kernel engagements move you from L1 (Disconnected) to L3 (Instrumented) inside one quarter. That means: clean kernel, working assistants, teams trust the numbers. L4 and L5 are where the compounding starts. L3 is where the pain stops.

LAYER 03 · DIAGNOSTIC

See how database management fits into The Kernel.

Ninety minutes inside your portal beats a discovery deck. We come in with a hypothesis about where your kernel breaks, check it against the real data model, and hand you a one-page map of what to fix first.
